Why European Union passports have become so popular in recent years? There are many reasons. These are the most notable and important reasons: Freedom of movement between European Union countries: It is important to note that a European passport allows free entry into any EU country. This is a significant advantage for tourists. A Dutch passport entitles anyone to freely enter any country within the Union, regardless of their stay length.

Residence

Anybody who wishes to reside in the Netherlands and to enjoy all it has to offer can do so easily without the need for a European passport.
Anyone who wishes to reside in the country may be eligible to do so by taking certain steps. These complicated bureaucratic processes may not always yield the desired result. It is possible to reside in all EU countries with a European Union passport.

Livelihood

It is important to highlight the immense economic potential of European citizens. A Holland passport allows you to work in any EU country, and offers the possibility of permanent residence. Just as an Israeli passport can allow you to open a business here, so too can European citizens. This makes it easier to expand Israeli businesses to foreign markets.

Education

Higher education in Israel can be expensive and not accessible to all, but countries within the EU, especially the Netherlands, require an academic degree. Many countries offer scholarships to help students pay the living costs and enroll them in top universities across Europe.

Security

The Netherlands passport allows people to complete this step with relative ease. Even if they don’t decide to proceed, it is still a good option.
It is important to understand that there are other significant benefits to EU citizens beyond the ones listed above. These include substantial tax savings in many EU countries (Israel is one of the most notorious top ten nations with the highest taxes in the world), access the most advanced medical system in the world, automatic issuances of visas to USA for European citizens, as well as numerous other benefits.

How may one obtain a Holland passport?

The requirements are quite strict. The requirements for Holland passport eligibility are generally that at least one parent must be a Dutch citizen. It is possible to get a Holland passport even if you don’t have Dutch roots. Dual citizens (Israeli, Dutch) may lose their Dutch citizenship if their passports are not renewed within a specific time.
We recommend that you check if your family has ties to ex-Norwegian citizens to see if they are eligible to grant you a passport. It is often easier than you think to obtain Dutch citizenship.

Disadvantages of being a Dutch National

In addition to the above, if you know of some family ties to former Netherlands citizens, we strongly recommend checking if you are eligible for a passport. In many cases, obtaining Netherlands citizenship is much more straightforward than expected.

  • It is more expensive to apply for naturalization than to extend a residence permit. See what the costs of naturalization are.
  • You usually have to renounce the nationality you now have. Make sure you know what this means for you before applying for naturalization. You may lose certain rights in the country of which you now have your nationality. There are also fees for renouncing the nationality you now have.
  • In these cases, you will get double nationality if you become a Dutch citizen:
  • If you do not have to renounce the race that you now have.
  • You are unable to offer the nationality that you currently have.

You can also lose your Dutch nationality again. For example, if you are convicted of a serious offense. Or if you committed fraud when applying for a residence permit or Dutch nationality.
